Mustafa Ali Returns On WWE Raw

After an absence of several months

After nearly six months off of television, Mustafa Ali returned to WWE on Monday's edition of Raw.

Ali interrupted a Miz TV segment featuring new United States champion Theory. There, Miz made several remarks about Ali and his job status with WWE, while Ali was there to challenge Theory to a match for his US title. Theory rejected the challenge, but Ali did get a match with The Miz instead.

Ali managed to win after countering The Miz's figure four into a pinfall. After the match, Ali was attacked on the way to the locker room by Tommaso Ciampa (now simply going by "Ciampa").

Ali last appeared on WWE television in October. In mid-January, Ali posted a message on social media, writing, "I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE."

Word came soon after that WWE rejected Ali's request. It was noted that Ali had a considerable amount of time left on his WWE deal.
