MVP Planning To Wrestle & Eventually Retire In AEW
MVP wants to put the boots back on in an AEW ring
Nov 22, 2024
MVP currently has his hands busy as the leader and mouthpiece of The Hurt Syndicate, but he still has a desire to wrestle again.
Responding to a fan on Bluesky who asked him if there was "Any chance we'll see you in an AEW ring?", the former WWE United States Champion said: "Yeah. I plan to eventually retire in AEW".
The 51-year-old left WWE in August when his contract expired and he debuted at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 25. He has since been joined there by Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley.
MVP last stepped into the ring on the July 18, 2022 edition of WWE Raw, where he teamed with Omos in a disqualification loss to The Street Profits.
MVP has been outspoken about his decision to leave WWE, recently saying during an interview with Drop The Heat:
"This time, I didn't want to re-sign. And I let it be known that I wasn't going to re-sign because the new management in place - anytime, I don't care where you work, when new management comes in, it's good for some people and not for other people. New people come in, old people go. So I just felt that it was definitely time to go because the new management just wasn't for me and I ain't for him [laughs]".
