MVP's WWE Deal Expires

MVP is finally finished up with WWE

It had been reported heavily over the last couple of weeks that MVP was on his way out of WWE, along with fellow former Hurt Business member, Bobby Lashley. It was finally confirmed by the man himself that his time with the promotion was coming to an end when he surprisingly showed up in Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XI to challenge Barnett to a match. MVP has not wrestled in a match since July 2022, over two years ago.

Whilst MVP showed up at the Game Changer Wrestling event earlier this week, his WWE contract did not actually officially expire until Friday August 2nd, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who revealed that date. Whether MVP received permission to begin appearing elsewhere prior to the expiration of his contract is unclear, but either way he is now out of the company.

MVP is reportedly looking to reform the Hurt Business down the line with Bobby Lashley and free agent Shelton Benjamin, with AEW being touted as a potential destination for this reunion.

He re-signed to WWE in 2020 following his return at the Royal Rumble event of that year.
