Natalya And Tamina Capture WWE Women's Tag Team Titles

A title change on WWE SmackDown

Natalya and Tamina are the new WWE Women's Tag Team champions, capturing the titles on Friday night's episode of SmackDown from Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

The finish came when Tamina pinned former partner Jax with a top rope splash. Jax had just hit Natalya with a Samoan drop prior to Tamina performing the splash.

The win gives Natalya her third championship in the company, having previously held the Divas and SmackDown Women's titles one time apiece.

For Tamina, her only prior championship was a 24/7 title reign in 2019, making this the first time in Tamina's 11-year main roster run that she captured gold in a scheduled match.

Jax and Baszler had reigned with the Women's Tag Team titles since the Royal Rumble on January 31, winning them from Asuka and Charlotte Flair. Their reign comes to an end at 103 days.

The two teams had previously met on the second night of WrestleMania 37 last month. Natalya and Tamina won a Turmoil match the previous night to qualify for that title match, which Jax and Baszler won.
