Netflix Edits Roman Reigns Entrance & More On September 14 WWE Raw

Hardly a week goes by without Netflix making edits to Monday Night Raw and the September 14 edition of WWE's flagship show was no exception.

Raw aired from Mexico City on Monday night and the fans in attendance were particularly rambunctious, with loud chants throughout the show, particularly towards heels who were told exactly what the crowd thought of them. For Netflix, some of those chants went too far.

When Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio make their way to the ring on the Raw replay, Netflix have added piped-in boos to replace the chants towards the heel couple, which is particularly noticeable when the broadcast cuts to a crowd shot of fans chanting instead of booing.

Roman Reigns' entrance was also censored, with Netflix on the Raw replay cutting to a wide angle as Reigns heads down the entranceway due to fans flipping off the World Heavyweight Champion ahead of his title defence against Penta.

Netflix's censorship has caused frustration amongst WWE fans and within WWE itself, with reports noting that WWE's post-production department feel "handcuffed" at times by the streaming service's restrictions. Netflix's Vice President of Global Live Sports and Entertainment Gabe Spitzer has claimed the streaming platform "try to be a little looser on that" when it comes to ratings standards, but that has certainly not been the case for Monday Night Raw since the show moved to Netflix in January 2025.

Recent examples of Netflix censorship include Netflix removing a line from a Becky Lynch promo about Liv Morgan sleeping with Dominik Mysterio, Brock Lesnar's already censored t-shirt being pixelated, and huge blurry blocks appearing on your TV screen to cover up blood.

Even Friday Night SmackDown, which only airs on Netflix for international audiences, has not escaped censorship, as CM Punk's remark about Sami Zayn "jerking it" on the September 11 episode of SmackDown was bleeped out.
