WWE headed to the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas last night for Friday Night SmackDown, and the show featured two big title matches - one of which saw a title change.

Chelsea Green put her United States Championship on the line against number one contender Zelina Vega, finally giving the challenger her title match after a chase over the last couple of months. Green attempted to cheat her way to another title defence, but her “Secret Hervice” of Piper Niven and Alba Fyre were ejected from ringside by the referee. This opened the door for an even contest which allowed Zelina Vega to nail a Code Red for the victory, becoming the brand new United States Champion.

This marks the first ever singles title of her WWE career, with her previously reigning as a Tag Team Champion alongside Carmella, and formerly winning the Queen Of The Ring tournament (then known as the Queen’s Crown). Green’s reign as the inaugural women’s United States Champion comes to an end after 131 days. She won the gold at last year’s reboot of Saturday Night’s Main Event, defeating Michin to stand tall. Green was reportedly originally scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 41, but several pitches were rejected.
