New Tag Team Champions Crowned On IMPACT Wrestling

New champions in IMPACT!

IMPACT Wrestling have new tag team champions.

Mike Bennett and Matt Taven had been IMPACT World Tag Team Champions since September 1 but they dropped the gold to Heath and Rhino on Thursday's episode of IMPACT Wrestling from Albany, New York.

The finish came about after Maria Kanellis entered the ring and inadvertently threw powder in her husband Mike Bennett's eyes, blinding him. Rhino then set up for the Gore and decked Maria after Matt Taven moved out of the way. This provided the opening for Heath to hit a Wake-Up Call on Taven, though, and the former One Man Band made the cover to capture the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships for himself and The Man Beast.

Heath and Rhino have been a popular on-off tag team for several years and they were the inaugural WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions back in 2016.

Thursday's match was taped on October 8 and Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, and Maria Kanellis have since exited IMPACT and debuted in All Elite Wrestling.
