New WWE Main Roster Wrestlers Set For Matches On May 2 NXT

Newest main roster call-ups could be set for their farewell matches on WWE NXT

The 2023 WWE Draft kicked off on the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, and the first round of picks were followed up with some supplemental picks the morning after. On both days, multiple NXT wrestlers were announced as main roster call ups including NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, Apollo Crews, JD McDonagh, and Zoey Stark.

The new rosters don’t come into effect until after the Backlash PPV on May 6, so some of these wrestlers will be making their supposed NXT farewell on the coming Tuesday show. Multiple matches have been announced featuring these newly called-up main roster members.

After celebrating their call-up, Fyre & Dawn were confronted by the tag team of Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, and were challenged to an NXT Women’s Tag Team Title match. Additionally, JD McDonagh issued an open challenge for the May 2 episode, which was answered online by Dragon Lee.

The card for NXT is as follows;

  • Wes Lee (c) vs. Drew Gulak - NXT North American Championship
  • Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn (c) vs. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance - NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships
  • Joe Gacy vs. Joe Coffey - If Gacy Wins, The Dyad Earn A Title Match
  • Jacy Jayne vs. Gigi Dolin
  • JD McDonagh vs. Dragon Lee
  • Axiom vs. SCRYPTS
  • Dani Palmer makes her debut
