New WWE NXT Talent Undergoes Name Change

Name change for WWE NXT talent

A new wrestler performing on WWE NXT has been given their official WWE in-ring name.

WWE taped matches for future episodes of NXT Level Up ahead of a live episode of NXT on Tuesday, September 24 from the WWE Performance Center. The second match at the taping saw Dante Chen defeat Harlem Lewis with a double palm strike.

Harlem Lewis is the new WWE name for Vincent Winey, a developmental talent within the company. Winey signed with WWE earlier this year and he has performed on WWE TV under his real name, being squashed by Odyssey Jones on the August 12 edition of Monday Night Raw. Winey has also had several matches at NXT house shows since his in-ring debut in March.

WWE filed to trademark 'Harlem Lewis' on September 18 and Winey has since changed his social media handles to his new in-ring name. Winey is in a relationship with Cora Jade.

Before moving to wrestling, Vincent Winey was a linebacker for the Morehead State Eagles. He also played American football for Italy's Ancona Dolphins.

Another WWE NXT talent to recently undergo a name change was Destinee Brown. WWE have also signed a former boxer to be an NXT referee.
