New WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Crowned At The Great American Bash

A title change on this week's NXT special

WWE NXT has new Women's Tag Team Champions!

Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell defended their Titles against the new combination of Io Shirai and Zoey Stark on Tuesday night's NXT The Great American Bash. The duo had become number one contenders to the Championships after winning a triple threat match last week.

The victory for the challengers came as the battery that has been seen charging during vignettes in recent weeks on NXT finally reached 100 per cent, leading to the return of Tegan Nox!

The distraction by the returning superstar, who hasn't been seen since September 2020, led to Stark hitting Hartwell with a 360 Go To Sleep to pick up the pin and the win for her team.

Stark and Shirai are the fourth team to hold the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships since their inception earlier this year. LeRae and Hartwell's run as champions comes to an end after 63 days, after they defeated Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart for the belts on the May 4 episode of NXT.
