Joe Hendry signed with WWE as 2025 drew to a close in what was reported to be a “main-roster level” deal in terms of pay. At the time, Hendry had been predominantly cameo-ing on the NXT brand, aside from a couple of appearances here and there at the likes of the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania 41, and the Saturday Night’s Main Event show for John Cena’s final match. It looks as though the main roster is in his immediate future.
It was reported over the last week that Hendry was among a few names being considered for imminent main roster call-ups, alongside the likes of Oba Femi, Sol Ruca, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans. Following on from his appearance on last night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, fans should expect him to stick around on the blue brand. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select have revealed that internal discussions have in fact gone on about Hendry moving up to the main roster, and that SmackDown is intended to be his permanent home.
Not only that, but it is reported that the USA Network has pushed to get Joe Hendry on their platform, explaining why WWE selected SmackDown as his chosen destination.
