Nick Aldis Takes Shot At NWA

Former NWA World Champion Nick Aldis took a dig at the company

WWE star Nick Aldis has taken a shot at his former employer the NWA

The SmackDown General Manager took a dig at the NWA on his Instagram page last night by sharing a graphic promoting WWE NXT's October 2024 move to The CW alongside the song 'Into the Fire' by Dokken. Into the Fire was the old theme music for the NWA Powerrr television show.

This comes after The CW were announced as the future home for NXT, despite reportedly being in negotiations to bring NWA Powerrr to their network. A controversial scene at NWA Samhain reportedly upset CW executives and sped up the negotiating process to secure NXT instead.

NWA President Billy Corgan has insisted that TV deals with two top-twenty networks are still in place. Recent reports suggest that Corgan's leadership is causing frustration within the organisation.

Aldis was outspoken about his issues with the NWA's direction prior to leaving the promotion in January. The 37-year-old now works as both an on-screen authority figure and backstage producer for WWE.
