Nick Gage Regains GCW World Title From Jon Moxley

Thanks to an interesting assist

Nick Gage is once more the GCW World champion, after defeating Jon Moxley in a "title vs. career" match at GCW Fight Club Night 1 on Saturday night in Atlantic City.

Moxley was in control late in the match, throwing Gage through a glass pane and then hitting the Death Rider. However, W. Morrissey and Stokely Hathaway of AEW's The Firm hit the ring. Morrissey chokeslammed Moxley through a barbed wire glass pane.

Gage then won with two piledrivers, followed by a chokebreaker.

The win gives Gage the third GCW World title of his career. He last held the title on July 24 of last year, when he lost it to Matt Cardona in a match that gained infamy for fans throwing dangerous objects at Cardona afterwards.

Moxley's reign as champion ends at 399 days. He won the title from Cardona on September 4, 2021 at GCW's The Art of War Games in suburban Chicago.

Moxley signed a new five year contract with AEW, which was announced on Friday. According to the press release, Moxley will wrestle exclusively with AEW and their "international partners" going forward, which seems to indicate that his time with GCW is now over.
