Nick Gage Vs. Matt Cardona Announced For GCW Homecoming

A match pitting Nick Gage against Matt Cardona has been made official.

Game Changer Wrestling has announced that Gage will face Cardona for the GCW championship at the promotion's Homecoming event on Saturday, July 24 in Atlantic City, NJ.

The match was made official following a confrontation between Gage and Cardona, while the former Zack Ryder hosted a live podcast in Baltimore. Gage crashed the proceedings looking for Cardona, before being taken away by security.

The incident followed the events of GCW's Zombie Walk on June 6, in which Gage was attacked by a masked man. The individual mimicked the mannerisms of Jon Moxley and even hit Gage with the Paradigm Shift, but unmasked to reveal himself as Cardona.

The two had previously exchanged words through social media, leading to Cardona's eventual intrusion.

The Homecoming event is part of a weekend double-header at Atlantic City's Showboat on Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25.

Gage is in his second reign as GCW champion. He won the title from Rickey Shane Page on April 9 in Ybor City, FL.
