NJPW Announce United States Title Tournament, Finals Set For Dominion

A shot at the United States Championship will be on the line at NJPW Dominion

Since defeating Will Ospreay for the IWGP United States Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January, Kenny Omega has so far only managed one successful defence of his title, but Omega will soon find out who his next challenger is after Dominion on June 4.

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that a mini tournament will take place on the road to Dominion, with the finals set for the show. Lance Archer will take on Juice Robinson at Collision in Philadelphia on April 16, and Will Ospreay will take on Hiroshi Tanahashi at Resurgence on May 21, with the winners of those two matches set to fight at Dominion for the right to face 'The Cleaner'.

Whilst it’s not been said explicitly, it seems like the winner of the tournament will get their shot at Omega at the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II event in Toronto on June 25, with the announcement poster for the mini tournamentpractically identical to the Forbidden Door poster.

Regardless, wherever the title match happens Omega is in for a stern test, with all four challengers former United States Heavyweight Champions.
