NJPW Re-Signs Hiromu Takahashi

Hiromu Takahashi signs new deal with NJPW

Hiromu Takahashi won't be leaving New Japan Pro-Wrestling

Tokyo Sports' Yusuke Okamoto has reported that Takahashi re-signed with NJPW on Monday.

Okamoto tweeted"[Breaking news] Hiromu Takahashi, whose contract was renewed today, quickly left the office without responding to any interviews from the waiting press (I was the only one). That's all from the scene... Ah! wait a minute! This is LINE from Hiromu-chan! 'I signed a contract.' It's a contract! Hiromu Takahashi is under contract! That's all from the scene!"

Hiromu Takahashi remains one of New Japan's top stars in their junior heavyweight division and he is a five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. The Los Ingobernables de Japon member dropped the IWGP title to El Desperado at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4.

Takahashi has been full-time with New Japan since 2016, having returned to the company following excursions in CMLL and Ring of Honor. Along with his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title reigns, Hiromu is a four-time Best of the Super Juniors winner.

With Kazuchika Okada set to leave NJPW at the end of February, some fans have called for New Japan to move Takahashi to the heavyweight division.
