NJPW's Gabriel Kidd Taking Time Off

Kidd will be back

After being pulled from TERMINUS 2 and the February 17 NJPW Strong taping in Los Angeles, California, Gabriel Kidd has announced he is taking time off.

"This isn't a wrestling promo. I am not well and will be taking time off because after 13 years of dedicating my life and putting wrestling first I need a rest. Thank you to my family and closest friends for giving me the wake up call I've needed for a while. I'll be back," Kidd tweeted.

Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay also asked fans to allow Kidd to rest, writing: "Last week the Gabriel Kid that you all say on this wasn't the guy we all know. I know I'm the last person to ask this, however I ask you all for some leniency, please allow him the rest to ensure his health is first. He has gone through so much, he is returning home for help. I've got nothing but love and respect for him. Hopefully when he is healthy we can give you that match, because nothing excites me more than the challenge. Health first always, Whatever he needs we will give him the support."

An NJPW LA Dojo graduate, Kidd returned in late 2021. He has primarily performed on NJPW Strong and for the UK-based RevPro promotion since then, competing against the likes of Eddie Kingston, Jonathan Gresham, Yota Tsuji and Ricky Knight Jr.

Kidd has previously been open about his struggles with mental health.
