NJPW will crown a new IWGP World Heavyweight champion at Dominion on Monday, June 7.

New Japan has announced that five-time IWGP Heavyweight champion Kazuchika Okada will face Shingo Takagi in a match for the vacant championship.

The belt has been vacant since May 20, when Will Ospreay was forced to vacate the title as a result of a neck injury.

Okada had been set to face Ospreay for the title at Wrestle Grand Slam at the Tokyo Dome on Saturday, but in addition to Ospreay's injury, the show has been postponed indefinitely.

Takagi unsuccessfully challenged Ospreay for the title at Wrestling Dontaku on May 4, but did defeat Okada in this year's New Japan Cup.

Dominion was moved from Sunday, June 6 to Monday, June 7, due to Osaka's COVID-related state of emergency extending through the end of that weekend.

The current card for NJPW Dominion, taking place June 7 at Osaka-jo Hall in Osaka, Japan, is as follows:

* IWGP World Heavyweight: Kazuchika Okada vs. Shingo Takagi

* Kota Ibushi vs. Jeff Cobb

* IWGP Junior Heavyweight: El Desperado (c) vs. YOH
