NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15 To Be Held Over Two Nights

Taking a cue from its predecessor...

Just as New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 14 was held over two nights, so too will Wrestle Kingdom 15, following an announcement made during Sunday's G1 Climax 30.

Wrestle Kingdom 15 will take place on Monday, January 4 and Tuesday, January 5 at the Tokyo Dome.

No date has been confirmed yet for New Year Dash, which in 2020 was held on January 6.

Kota Ibushi qualified for a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight title at Wrestle Kingdom 15, through his victory over SANADA in the G1 Climax 30 final on Sunday. The present champion is Tetsuya Naito.

This past year's Wrestle Kingdom boasted a total of 20 matches across the two nights, and concluded with Naito defeating Kazuchika Okada to reign dually as Heavyweight and Intercontinental champion. The twin-bill was also notable for hosting the retirement of the legendary Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

For the remainder of 2020, New Japan's major event calendar includes Power Struggle on Saturday, November 7, and the combined World Tag League and Best of the Super Junior 27 tour, which begins Sunday, November 15, and concludes Friday, December 11.
