No WWE NXT TakeOvers Planned For Remainder Of 2021

Survivor Series is to be WWE’s last PPV of 2021

As we head into the final quarter of 2021, and following this week’s Crown Jewel event, WWE have updated their production calendar for the rest of the year heading into 2022, and no NXT TakeOver events are planned for the remainder of the year.

The last TakeOver event was TakeOver 36 in August, which saw Samoa Joe defeat Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship, as well as the final chapter of Adam Cole in NXT.

For the remainder of 2021, WWE are promoting Survivor Series on November 21 from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and are not running a December PPV - the first time WWE haven’t run a December PPV since 1995 - with TLC recently scrapped.

WWE are planning two PPVs in January 2022, with Day 1 in Atlanta, Georgia on January 1, and the Royal Rumble in St. Louis on January 29. PWInsider have noted that WWE are considering Day 1 their December PPV.

The omission of NXT TakeOver from the PPV schedule comes as little surprise, with the relaunched NXT 2.0 still in its relevant infancy.
