North American Title Match Set For October 12 WWE NXT 2.0

Before Hit Row head to SmackDown

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott will defend the NXT North American Championship for the first time next week when he takes on Santos Escobar.

Escobar challenged Scott to the title match during last night's edition of NXT 2.0 by claiming the champion should prove he is a man before he runs away to SmackDown. Scott then accepted the challenge later in the show and said the only way Escobar will be able to see the North American Title is on Friday nights.

Escobar and Scott and their factions have been feuding since the Hit Row man defeated Bronson Reed for the title back in June. Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma previously faced off in a six-man tag team match in August, a match won by Escobar's stable.

Also set for next week's show is Kyle O'Reilly and Von Wagner vs. Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland, and Joe Gacy vs. Tommaso Ciampa. If Gacy wins, he will be added to the NXT Championship match between Ciampa and Bron Breakker at Halloween Havoc on October 26.
