Octagon Jr. appears to have avoided a career-ending injury following a horrible landing during Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide's taping of night two of Noche de Los Grandes on Saturday, May 30 in Monterrey, Mexico.

During the taping, Octagon Jr. faced Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Lince Dorado, and Mini Vikingo in a five-way in a match that is scheduled to air on June 6. On a top rope spot, Wilde hit Octagon Jr. with a DDT to the mat but Octagon landed on his head, suffering a neck injury in the process. The referee immediately threw up the 'X' sign, signalling Octagon had suffered a legitimate injury, and the former AAA Latin American Champion had to be removed from the arena on a stretcher.

Despite the serious incident, Octagon Jr. will be able to wrestle again, it seems. Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Octagon Jr's MRI came back with a positive result. Octagon will likely be sidelined for "several months" but it was noted the injury could have been much worse.

Octagon Jr. has been a part of AAA since 2018 and he continued to wrestle as Golden Magic until he took over the Octagon mantle in 2019. In addition to his AAA Latin American Championship reign, Octagon Jr. is a one-time AAA World Trios Champion with El Hijo del Vikingo and Myzteziz Jr.

Also set for night two of Noche de Los Grandes is La Catalina, Lola Vice, and Bayley vs. Las Toxicas of Flammer, La Hiedra and Maravilla.
