Original Plans For Orange Juice Segment At AEW Fight For The Fallen 2020 Revealed

Plans were inspired by 2 classic Raw segments...

At AEW Fight For The Fallen, the feud between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy continued as The King Of Sloth Style dumped gallons upon gallons of orange juice onto The Inner Circle. Le Champion was sticky for the rest of the broadcast and repeatedly complained while on commentary.

During the 15th edition of the Saturday Night Special, Jericho revealed the segment was inspired by The Brood's bloodbaths, but that he originally wanted to have Cassidy come to the ring with an orange juice truck and spray OJ.

The Painmaker said: "Obviously I got the idea from that from the bloodbaths that they used to do in the 90s with The Brood, which was Gangrel, and Edge and Christian. And they would have somebody standing there and they would get dumped with blood and that was kind of what I had the idea from.

"I originally wanted to have Orange come into the venue in like an orange juice truck, kind of like Steve Austin did with the milk truck or whatever it may be. But if you see at Daily's Place, whenever they have cars come in… Cody tried to drive it in that one time and now they have FTR drive in, and you can only get to a certain area then you have to stop, so you couldn't get a whole orange juice truck. I don't even know if there's such a thing but I'm sure we could have made one, we would spray orange juice on it. I thought, 'Well that's not gonna happen so what about an orange juice bath?'

"I had the idea a few weeks ago and our great team at AEW, the amazing machinists and prop guys and the guys that just kind of do all of that miscellaneous stuff… kind of helped put it all together. And you never know because it's outside and what if there's a breeze and you've got to stand in the right spot, and there's actually a little bit of a mistake with the 'X marks the spot' place where I was supposed to stand so I just kind of had to guess… All of that stuff aside, it's live TV so you hope for the best, and when that damn orange juice came down it hit us hard. It got me just soaked."
