The New Day changed their attitude on the December 2 edition of WWE Raw, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods kicking Big E out of the group during their 10-year anniversary celebrations.

For several months, tensions between Woods and Kofi had been building on screen with it assumed one was to turn on the other before the two buried the hatchet to force out Big E.

Per a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the split has been in the works for a while, but original plans would have seen Woods and Kingston turf out Big E and side with Odyssey Jones. Plans to do the split were put on hold when Jones was fired by WWE in September over allegations of domestic violence.

Jones originally teased an alliance with Kingston and Woods in August following his call-up to WWE’s main roster, teaming with the multi-time WWE Tag Team Champions in their war with The Final Testament.

Big E remains uncleared for in-ring competition, with his future in the ring up in the air. The former WWE Champion has been out of action since breaking his neck in March 2022.
