Paul Heyman has moved to explain his actions during the Universal Championship match at WWE Crown Jewel 2021.

Heyman's allegiance to Roman Reigns has been questioned since the return of Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam in August. The two heavyweights would clash at Crown Jewel last month and, during the match, Heyman would seek to take advantage of the referee going down by throwing the Title into the ring.

However, it is unclear if Heyman was trying to help the Tribal Chief, or The Beat, with the Championship landing in the middle of the two men.

During an interview with WWE's The Bump, Heyman was asked if he was trying to create the illusion of playing both sides, but the special counsel simply suggested that he was not an accurate thrower.

Heyman said: "I don’t like the word ‘If.’ ‘If’ is hypothetical. If I could go back to Crown Jewel, which I can’t, then the throw would be more accurate.

"What happened was, number one, I had horrible jet lag. It’s a long, long, long trip. Throwing the title into the ring, my aim was off. I’m not an athlete. That title is very heavy, by the way. You can’t blame me for my accuracy."
