Paul Heyman is set to induct Goldberg into the WWE Hall of Fame, according to Mike Johnson of

Goldberg was the first name announced for the class of 2018, and has since been joined by the Dudley Boyz, Ivory, and Jeff Jarrett. None of the planned inductors have been officially announced yet.

Heyman would perhaps be a surprising choice, given that he was running ECW during Goldberg's WCW heyday in the late 1990s.

The pair worked together over the past year or so during the feud between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, with Heyman managing the latter. He appeared at ringside during both their shockingly short match at Survivor Series 2016 and the blowoff bout at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.

Despite not being as closely involved with Goldberg as some of his biggest rivals over the years - such as Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Diamond Dallas Page - Heyman would surely be a well-received choice if this rumour proves to be true. He is one of the most charismatic people in WWE, and although there's an obvious difference between cutting an in-ring promo and delivering a speech at the Hall of Fame, his inimitable charisma should translate well.

However, this rumour is sure to also raise questions over the identity of the person to induct the Dudley Boyz. Heyman would surely have been a more natural fit for the tag team, given their close ECW ties.

Then again, Edge and Christian are both on good terms with WWE, and the Hardy Boyz are currently under contract with the promotion - so they could be considered potential options too.

Rumours also circulated in the wake of the announcement of Jeff Jarrett, specifically concerning his former manager Jim Cornette. Cornette appeared at last year's Hall of Fame to induct the Rock and Roll Express, although he recently took to Twitter to downplay rumours of a repeat appearance.
