Paused WWE Storyline Seemingly Restarts On WWE Raw

A WWE storyline appears to be back on following Monday Night Raw

A "halted" WWE storyline seemingly restarted on the August 7 edition of Monday Night Raw.

As tensions within The Judgment Day continued to build following SummerSlam, Finn Balor was shown backstage on Raw speaking to JD McDonagh. Damian Priest approached Balor during the show and asked to speak in private about "Judgment Day business", only for Senor Money in the Bank to be told that he can speak freely in front of McDonagh due to Balor's history with the Irish Ace.

As the segment continued, McDonagh gave his thoughts on issues within the faction, noting that tensions had worsened ever since Priest won the Money in the Bank briefcase. Priest then questioned why McDonagh was speaking at all to end the segment.

McDonagh went on to assist Judgment Day later in the show as he took out Sami Zayn backstage before the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion was scheduled to team with Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes against Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio in the main event. Zayn was replaced by Shinsuke Nakamura, who ended up turning heel to close the show.

McDonagh has long been discussed as a possible member of Judgment Day, with reports back in May noting that WWE were considering adding the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion to the faction. It then emerged in mid-July through WRKD Wrestling that plans for McDonagh to join the stable had been "halted for the time being." Monday's Raw seems to suggest those plans have been restarted, though.
