The release of Tyra Mae Steele has created questions around the WWE LFG TV series on A&E.
Steele - real name Tamyra Mensah-Stock - was let go by WWE on Friday, April 24 along with 10 other NXT wrestlers and 14 main roster talents as part of roster cuts following WrestleMania 42.
Steele won season one of WWE LFG in May 2025, but she was cut by WWE less than one year later, which has left a lot of people in NXT questioning what the point of the A&E show is, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer.
WWE LFG, which premiered in February 2025, is a talent show where WWE developmental wrestlers compete for an 'NXT contract', although all of the wrestlers featured on the show are already signed to WWE. The first season was won by Tyra Mae Steele and Jasper Troy, while the season two winners were Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye.
Season three of WWE LFG premiered on Sunday, April 26. The show will feature wrestlers that have already been released by the company, including Carlee Bright.
Following her WWE LFG win, Tyra Mae Steele was featured on NXT TV from June 2025, which included a Heatwave match where she teamed with Tavion Heights against Chelsea Green and Ethan Page. Steele did not wrestle on NXT TV after November 2025, however, and she was instead relegated back to WWE EVOLVE.
