Police Shocked By Matt Riddle's Claims Following Airport Incident

Police have reportedly been left shocked by Matt Riddle's sexual assault claim. 

Riddle was travelling back to the United States last weekend following the Superstar Spectacle special in India and the former United States Champion accused a New York City airport policeman of sexual assault following an incident at JFK International Airport. Officers were called to the airport due to a disorderly person who was deplaning. Riddle and other witnesses were then spoken to by officers and they were free to go without incident and a police report was not filed. Riddle reportedly appeared to be apologetic at the time. 

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, police were shocked by Riddle's Instagram post in which he claimed he was sexually assaulted. Meltzer also noted: "They believe nothing at all went down like that but they are still investigating his claim."

WWE have not commented on the incident.

Riddle is currently off WWE TV due to a double ear infection and a case of bronchitis. The former Raw Tag Team Champion is currently slated to be back on WWE programming from the September 18 edition of Monday Night Raw.
