Christian Cage and Nick Wayne on AEW Collision, with Wayne holding up the ROH World Television Title

Christian Cage made his ambitions clear on the June 21 edition of AEW Collision, revealing his intentions for himself and Nick Wayne to become the first father and son AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Whether All Elite Wrestling are planning to bring those plans to fruition is currently unknown but preparations have been underway for some time, with BodySlam.net reporting that Father & Son Tag Team Title belts were made around one year ago.

The plans for the Father & Son Tag Team Titles would involve father and son tag teams, both real and legitimate, competing for the belts, including Christian Cage & Nick Wayne, Billy Gunn & Anthony Bowens, Kerry Von Erich & one of his sons, and Ricky & Kerry Morton. A Jurassic Express reunion has even been discussed, although it is unknown what combination of the former faction this would include, nor is it known how they are storyline related.

Original plans called for Christian Cage and Nick Wayne to challenge the Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Titles, with one of the talents turning on the other during the contest.

AEW's plans for Christian Cage and Nick Wayne have reportedly caused a slowdown in plans for Christian to reunite with Cope. Christian wasn't ready to end things with The Patriarchy and wants to complete the storyline with Nick Wayne because of the amount of time that has been invested in their relationship.
