Christian Cage and Cope reuniting appeared to be the long-term goal when Adam Copeland signed with All Elite Wrestling in October 2023. The two real-life best friends have yet to reform their popular tag team, however.

Plans were in place for Cope and Christian to reunite in 2025 to set up a match with FTR at All In on July 12, with Cope being written off TV at Dynasty from an FTR attack during Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler's heel turn. Fightful Select has reported that Cope was discussed to return at Double or Nothing to kick off the Cope & Christian vs. FTR programme, but the pay-per-view ultimately passed without the former Edge's comeback.

It has emerged in recent weeks that issues may be preventing Cope & Christian Cage vs. FTR from taking place at All In, with it being further noted that Christian wants to make sure The Patriarchy stable are fleshed out.

In an update, Fightful Select has reported that Christian Cage has indeed been behind plans for his reunion with Cope slowing down as the former IMPACT World Champion wasn't ready to end things with The Patriarchy. Specifically, Christian wants to complete his storyline with Nick Wayne due to the amount of time that has been put into their relationship.

Fightful had initially noted that Christian and Cope reuniting was still planned, but the outlet has since stated that as of now, they haven't heard if there are still plans to reform the legendary tag team. Christian and Cope have not teamed together since facing Alberto Del Rio & Brodus Clay on the March 28, 2011 edition of WWE Raw.
