One of the headline matches at SummerSlam 2026 will be the latest chapter in the rivalry between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as they clash over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and Reigns may finally pick up a pay-per-view singles win over his former Shield stablemate.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, a source familiar with WWE's current plans noted that as of July 30, the favourite to leave as World Heavyweight Champion is indeed Roman Reigns. The other WWE world title also seemingly won't be changing hands as CM Punk is the internal favourite to defeat Cody Rhodes in their Undisputed WWE Championship match.

Other wrestlers considered favourites for SummerSlam amongst those aware of WWE's creative plans are United States Champion Trick Williams against Baron Corbin, Oba Femi in his Hell in a Cell Match with Brock Lesnar, and Gunther against Nick Aldis.

At least one title looks likely to change hands, though, as Chad Gable is considered the favourite to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Penta in Gable's hometown of Minneapolis.

The Ladder Match for the Interim WWE Women's Championship and Sami Zayn vs. Finn Balor are considered too close to call.
