Potential WrestleMania 42 Plans For Sami Zayn

The WrestleMania 42 main event scene has been a hot point of discussion in recent weeks, with reports emerging that the planned Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns WWE Championship match was off, with Triple H deciding against a third main event for the two to avoid burnout from the audience. Instead, Drew McIntyre picked up the WWE Championship in a result pushed for internally by the likes of Rhodes, with McIntyre now expected to walk into the show as the reigning WWE Champion. 

When it comes to potential challengers, Sami Zayn could be in the conversation. Fightful Select have revealed that while there are no concrete plans in place at this time, Zayn being involved in the WrestleMania 42 world title picture has been “tentatively discussed”. 

It is noted that this talk came before all the recent changes in plans, so it isn’t clear where this has left Zayn for WrestleMania season. He will be involved in a number one contender’s match at Saturday Night’s Main Event involving Randy Orton, Trick Williams and Damian Priest, with the winner going on to Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia to challenge McIntyre.
