During his brief time away from All Elite Wrestling in early 2024, QT Marshall did hold talks with WWE. Those talks didn't go well, though, with Marshall admitting on The Takedown he was "rubbed the wrong way" during a conversation with someone in WWE.

"I had one conversation with somebody that doesn't even work there anymore. I just got rubbed the wrong way during the conversation. It was like, 'Hey, yeah, oh yeah, that's great. All right.' And I told him, like, yeah, all right, we'll stay in touch. To me, it was like I'm not staying in touch. I had all that time between November and January, so that on January 1 when that conversation did arise or January 2, whenever it was. It was like I kind of knew plus I had already spoken to Tony before that, so I kind of knew. I think I was just looking for a reason to say no," Marshall said.

QT became a free agent at the expiration of his contract in December 2023, with it emerging he wanted to wrestle more. Marshall signed with AEW again in February 2024 and the 39-year-old is a key figure behind the scenes working alongside Tony Khan.

Marshall has largely stayed out of the ring in AEW since his return but he will face Big Boom AJ on the Full Gear Zero Hour on November 23 at Newark, New Jersey's Prudential Center.
