R-Truth Was Scared He'd Never Wrestle Again Due To Injury & Infection

R-Truth developed a serious infection that made him think his wrestling career could be over

R-Truth recently returned to WWE programming at Survivor Series 2023 after spending a year off TV and away from the ring due to an injury suffered in an NXT match against Grayson Waller, tearing his quad and ruling him out indefinitely.

Since coming back, Truth has begun a storyline with The Judgment Day which has been catching fire amongst WWE fans, who are offering big reactions to Truth’s work each week. All of this though didn’t look like a reality for Truth a few months back, and retirement from in-ring competition seemed like a very real possibility for the multi-decade veteran.

In an interview with Fightful, Truth spoke on his time away from the ring and the bad condition his knee was in. After suffering his injury and going through recovery and rehab, his knee was infected and it developed into "MRSA, staph, their brothers and their sisters and cousins." This led to a hole forming in his knee which prevented him from bending it for up to three months.

Truth revealed that despite never thinking about retirement before, he was now fearful that he would never return. In the end though, he would push through and eventually make his comeback to WWE.
