Recent reports claimed that multi-time former WWE Champion Randy Orton had signed a new contract with the company, with Orton reportedly putting pen-to-paper on a new five-year deal earlier this month.
Orton has since broken his silence on the matter, confirming that he signed a new deal during an interview with Marca:
"I know you allude to Cody and his title and maybe I would like it later, but I think I’m not going to be in a rush, I'm going to continue doing this for a lot longer. I just signed a five-year contract extension and I don't have to hurry.. I have all the time in the world as far as I'm concerned. I feel great,” said Orton [translation via Google].
This new deal is another career highlight for Orton, with the 44-year-old future Hall of Famer having won almost every accolade imaginable since signing with the company in 2000, with Orton having returned to in-ring competition in November 2023 after 18 months on the sidelines.
Since returning to action at Survivor Series 2023, Orton has only won once on PPV/PLE, with his win as part of the WarGames main event coming before six losses on the big stage.
