Real Reason Kevin Owens Re-Signed With WWE Revealed

Kevin Owens on why he re-signed with WWE

Kevin Owens' future with WWE looked to be uncertain as 2021 continued, with the former WWE Universal Champion even teasing on social media that he might jump ship to All Elite Wrestling and reform Mount Rushmore.

KO would ultimately stick around in WWE, though, re-signing with the company on a multi-year deal that will keep him under contract until early 2025.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani of TNT Sports, Owens revealed that he decided to remain with WWE after Vince McMahon made it clear that he wanted the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion to sign a new deal.

"I had no idea how badly they [WWE] wanted me to stay here, I had no idea what was possible elsewhere, I had no clue. And honestly... none of the talks went very far. Because once it was time to talk to Vince, he made it clear he wanted me to stay. And I felt like I wasn't done here. Not even career-wise but there's also a whole side to this place that people don't see, that people don't know. We have a really incredible crew. And I'm talking not the wrestlers... The production crew, the people behind the scenes, there's really amazing people here and at the time I remember I can't imagine leaving and not seeing these people every week... it's weird I couldn't imagine leaving these people behind and never seeing them again," Owens stated.

Owens is currently off WWE TV having suffered a fractured rib. When exactly he will return to the ring is unknown but KO is not expected to be out of action for long.
