Reason For Chaotic Post-Main Event Angle At AEW Full Gear Revealed
Why AEW Full Gear had such a jam-packed ending!
Nov 25, 2024
All Elite Wrestling's Full Gear pay-per-view didn't just go off the air with Jon Moxley celebrating his successful AEW World Title defence against Orange Cassidy, instead presenting fans with a mini dose of chaos.
Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta first poured disinfectant into Orange Cassidy's mouth before dumping him out of the ring. Hangman Page then arrived and had a staredown with Moxley, his former rival in All Elite Wrestling. As the crowd erupted for the confrontation, Hangman wiped out Wheeler Yuta with a steel chair before Christian Cage appeared and levelled Moxley with a Killswitch.
This set up for Cage to cash in his Casino Gauntlet contract but Jay White then appeared and laid out Christian with a Blade Runner after Hangman had already made his way to the back.
After all of that, Moxley and the Death Riders were about to get in their pick-up truck in the backstage area, only for the automobile to suddenly be destroyed in a car crash by Darby Allin, with Full Gear going off the air with a bleeding Darby shouting at the Death Riders.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Full Gear had such a chaotic ending to "showcase how many challengers are chasing the AEW title between Hangman Page, Christian Cage, Darby Allin and Jay White."
Speculation has tipped Moxley to defend the title in a four-way against Page, Cage, and White at Worlds End on December 28. Darby Allin may not be in the match, though, due to his participation in the Continental Classic.
Allin to dethrone Moxley may be the end goal, though, as Darby was originally planned to defeat Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream.
