Reason Why Metalik Refused To Lose In AEW Revealed

Metalik didn't want to take a loss in AEW

It was reported over the weekend that wrestler Metalik had apparently refused to take a loss in a match against Komander on AEW Rampage, which led to the bout being cut from the show and replaced.

Per a report of Fightful Select, the reason for this happening has been revealed. The report states that Metalik was unwilling to suffer multiple consecutive losses without being under a full-time AEW deal. The original plan was supposed to see Metalik take on Komander and Penta El Zero Miedo in a triple threat match, with Metalik being the one to take the fall.

It was noted though that AEW “understood” Metalik’s position, and proceeded to replace the match with Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. The manner of this report seems to suggest that it was an amicable discussion with no heat on either side. Metalik has since appeared under Tony Khan’s professional wrestling banner, losing out in a fatal four way match on ROH programming in a bout featuring Angelico, Gringo Loco, and Slim J.
