Reason Why Naomi Vs. Tiffany Stratton Was Cut For Time On WWE SmackDown

Tiffany Stratton and Naomi had time cut from their match on SmackDown, and here's why

On last night’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton took on Naomi in a singles match. Notably, the recently returned Naomi was given a “jobber’s entrance” without a television walkout, and when including commercial breaks, entrances, and post-match, their entire “segment” lasted for less than ten minutes, before Naomi quickly lost the bout and the broadcast moved on. This was not the original plan though.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the opening segment of the show between The Rock and Roman Reigns, in which a challenge was laid to Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, overran by up to ten minutes. This led to Naomi’s entrance and “some other things” being cut from SmackDown due to this. The original plan was set to see Stratton and Naomi go for two segments, but this did not end up being the case.

The report does touch on some positivity regarding Stratton though, noting that WWE were surprised by the consistently positive reactions that Tiffany Stratton is getting, and that the company are now anticipating this to grow as shows progress.
