After some rumour and innuendo, AEW confirmed their first trip to Chicago’s United Center for AEW Rampage ‘The First Dance’ on August 20, a show that is heavily rumoured to be the AEW debut of CM Punk.

After being formally announced on last week’s edition of AEW: Dynamite, AEW sold an estimated 12,000 tickets in the pre-sale, with the remaining tickets selling out in just four minutes after being released for general sale.

According to @wrestletix on Twitter, AEW have sold 13,654 tickets - per a seat map showing available seating - but this number does not account for suites, and may increase if limited view seating is opened up.

The United Center has a maximum capacity of over 23,000, but obviously some seats have to be blocked off for stages, the ring, hard camera, etc. Regardless, whether Punk appears or not, AEW clearly has something special planned for the show, as it isn’t the norm to book a 20,000 plus seater arena for your weekly B-show.
