Report: 4 WWE NXT Stars Scheduled For Friday's SmackDown Taping
Several big names heading to SmackDown
Are more NXT call-ups to the main roster on the horizon?
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, NXT's Dakota Kai, Io Shirai, Roderick Strong and LA Knight are scheduled to be at Friday's SmackDown taping from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
LA Knight and Strong have been backstage at recent WWE main roster shows. The former Eli Drake defeated Strong in a dark match prior to last week's episode of SmackDown. Both men were then in action at Monday's Main Event taping with Knight picking up a win over Cedric Alexander, while Strong lost to T-Bar.
Dakota Kai has competed in several main roster dark matches since WWE resumed touring in July, having faced the likes of Amari Miller, Cora Jade and Xia Li. The Captain of Team Kick also appeared on Main Event back in August, losing to Aliyah.
Io Shirai hasn't appeared on the main roster since she competed in the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble. She lasted 13 minutes in the match before being eliminated by Nia Jax.
