Report: AAA Talent Expect FTR To Drop Tag Team Titles

FTR could be set to lose another set of tag team titles. 

According to Fightful Select, talent within AAA think FTR will be losing their AAA World Tag Team Championships sooner rather than later. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are scheduled to defend the belts today at AAA's show from Acapulco, Mexico against Dragon Lee and Dralistico. 

FTR have been AAA World Tag Team Champions since defeating The Lucha Brothers for the straps on an October 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite. Harwood and Wheeler would defend the belts twice in 2021, first against Samuray Del Sol and Aerostar before a rematch with Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix. FTR have only defended the titles twice for the whole of 2022, though, defeating their December 28 opponents Dragon Lee and Dralistico in March and picking up a win over The Young Bucks in April. 

If FTR do drop the gold, this would leave the duo with just the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. FTR were previously the ROH World Tag Team Champions but they dropped the belts to The Briscoes at Final Battle in a Double Dog Collar Match.
