Report: Adam Cole Out Of Action "For A While"

No Adam Cole for a while

Adam Cole seemingly won't be stepping inside an All Elite Wrestling ring for some time.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio today that Cole "is gonna be out for a while."

The former NXT Champion suffered what is believed to be a very serious concussion at the joint Forbidden Door pay-per-view between AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling on June 26. Cole was involved in a four-way for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at that event but he suddenly collapsed to the mat in the final moments after avoiding a Rainmaker and Jay White pinned him to end the match, with Cole visibly trying to kick out as he was being covered.

Cole has also been performing with a torn labrum in recent months. There is no word on if the three-time ROH World Champion will undergo shoulder surgery during his stint out of action.

Cole has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since September of 2021 and he has been presented as one of the promotion's top stars so far, including twice unsuccessfully challenging Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship.
