The AEW: Fight Forever video game released in the summer of 2023 reportedly resulted in a substantial loss for All Elite Wrestling.

According to Mike Straw of Insider Gaming, AEW lost at least $30 million from Fight Forever due to development delays and lower-than-expected sales. One source noted that Fight Forever sold "about half" of what AEW expected, while original plans were for the game to be released in 2022, but it was ultimately pushed back to June 2023.

Yuke's – the developers of WWE video games from 2000 until 2018 - were the team behind AEW: Fight Forever but reports in 2024 noted the title was over budget and underdelivered upon release, and AEW EVP Kenny Omega butted heads with Yuke's. The deal between AEW and Yuke's expired in the summer of 2024, with the final piece of DLC for Fight Forever being released in July of that year.

A game that was supposed to be heavily inspired by the iconic WWF No Mercy from the Nintendo 64, AEW: Fight Forever received mixed reviews upon release. There was some praise for the game's core engine, but numerous complaints included the roster and gameplay depth, as well as the game's story mode. Fight: Forever's player base quickly dwindled following release.

Mike Straw noted AEW are interested in making another video game "way down the line" but there is nothing imminent about a new game. This appeared to be the case when AEW Senior Vice President of Business, Partnerships, and Video Games Nik Sobic parted ways with the promotion earlier this year.
