Report: AEW Not Planning On Doing A No Rules Match Again

The match won't be repeated

The Labours of Jericho continued at AEW Fight For The Fallen and The Painmaker version of Jericho faced off against former GCW World Champion Nick Gage in a No Rules Match.

As many expected with a Nick Gage match, it included an extreme level of violence as both competitors used light tubes, a pane of glass and a pizza cutter on each other alongside other weapons. Jericho would eventually win the match with a Judas Effect to Gage.

Fans shouldn't expect to see such a violent contest in AEW again, though, as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the No Rules Match was just a "one-time thing."

"I am told it is a one-time thing and that they won't do it again. We will see because if it does a good quarter they'll do it again probably because that's wrestling," Meltzer said.

The match has already had unintended consequences for AEW as Dominos Pizza are now considering their "advertising presence" on Dynamite.
