Report: AEW Now Less Confident Daniel Garcia Will Sign A New Deal

Daniel Garcia being kept off AEW TV due to lack of new contract

All Elite Wrestling's confidence that Daniel Garcia will re-sign with the promotion is diminishing and him not putting pen to paper on a new contract is why he is currently off AEW programming, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

After being asked if Daniel Garcia was not on TV because he hasn't signed a new deal, Meltzer said:

"Yes, it has everything to do with that. I don't think that they want to put him on TV until he makes the commitment...As far as what's going to happen with him, I would say this, I would say that the almost surety or the strong confidence that he was signing, I wouldn't say that it's as strong. I wouldn't say that he's leaving either but it's not as strong as it was a month ago. He may leave. The fact he didn't sign before the last pay-per-view was one that is like hey, wait a minute, why didn't he sign before the last pay-per-view? It made a difference."

Daniel Garcia's contract with All Elite Wrestling is set to expire in October and the former ROH Pure Champion is on the receiving end of strong interest from WWE, who are reportedly "chomping at the bit" to sign 'Red Death.' The internal view within WWE, according to reports, is that Garcia is the next great technical wrestler.

Garcia not signing a new deal has affected his AEW booking. He was originally planned to defeat MJF at All Out but the finish was changed to MJF coming away with the victory as a result of Garcia not inking a new contract ahead of the pay-per-view.
