Report: AEW Plans For A Brand Split Expected To Constantly Change

More on the rumoured AEW roster split

Wednesday, May 17 looks set to be a historic day for All Elite Wrestling and it is expected a new TV deal with Warner Bros. Discovery and the creation of a new Saturday night TV show in Collision will be announced today.

Collision is rumoured to debut on Saturday, June 17 with a live taping from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The show will air from 8 pm until 10 pm ET on TNT in the United States. CM Punk is expected to return at the event and the first episode of Collision will be billed as 'The Second Coming.'

As of last word, Collision will see the introduction of a brand split of sorts to keep CM Punk and talent who don't want to be anywhere near him away from each other. Punk will be the star of Collision but he will still appear on Dynamite. Talents who don't want to work with him will be booked on Collision when he is on the Wednesday night show.

In an update, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that a higher-up within AEW told him the final format and ideas for the roster split will change until the debut of Collision and plans for the brand split will "probably" be tweaked after then too. The roster split is not expected to affect the women's division as it was felt there was not enough depth to keep women on different shows.
