Report: AEW Star Pushing To Sign Free Agent
Jon Moxley is pushing to sign a free agent for AEW
A new free agent is reportedly on the radar of certain members of the AEW roster. Sami Callihan is now a free agent after his contract with IMPACT Wrestling came to an end over the past 24 hours, making him an available asset for the first time in six years after previously joining IMPACT back in 2017. During his time with the company he became IMPACT World Champion on one occasion.
According to a report from Fightful Select, there are those in AEW pushing to sign Callihan, one of which being Jon Moxley, who is supposedly still quite close to Callihan after the pair sparked a friendship during both feuds and tag team runs during their days in the likes of CZW and wXw back in the 2000s.
It was noted in the report that Callihan’s relationship with IMPACT didn’t end on a bad note, with the parting of ways simply coming down to the sides not agreeing on a new deal. It was also stated that other companies could be looking to bring Callihan in for a producer role.
