Report: AEW Talents Upset That Sammy Guevara Wasn't Also Sent Home Following Backstage Fight

Andrade El Idolo was sent home after AEW backstage fight with Sammy Guevara

In the midst of trying times for the AEW locker room, things seemingly went from bad to worse as Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara were involved in a backstage fight after arguing on Twitter.

Andrade was ultimately sent home from the October 5 edition of Dynamite from Washington, DC whilst Sammy Guevara not only stayed on the show, but got the pinfall win in the main event. The fact that Sammy remained on the show is reportedly a point of contention with some in AEW, with DAZN’s Steven Muehlhausen reporting that there are those who are upset that Guevara wasn't also sent home for his part in the altercation.

This isn't the first time Guevara has been involved in backstage drama in AEW, with the former TNT Champion having clashed with Eddie Kingston over uncleared verbal jabs made about Kingston’s weight by Guevara in a promo segment in August.

With the Kingston drama, Eddie was suspended for two weeks whilst Guevara remained on TV, with their scheduled All Out 2022 match moved to Rampage Grand Slam. The difference this time is that whilst Guevara is not believed to have gotten physical during the altercation with Kingston, reports state that Guevara pushed Andrade.
